Basic Electricity

Basic Electricity

This experiment aims to confirm Ohm’s Law and explore basic electrical concepts. Students will build simple circuits, use ammeters and voltmeters, and investigate both series and parallel resistive circuits. Additionally, the experiment will cover circuits with capacitors connected in series and parallel.

Curriculum Alignments:

  • NGSS: HS-PS2-5 – Investigate how electric currents produce magnetic fields and vice versa.

  • AP Physics 2: 4.4 – Kirchhoff’s Loop Rule, 4.5 – Kirchhoff’s Junction Rule and Conservation of Electric Charge.

  • IB: 5.3 – Electric Cells.

  • Cambridge GCSE: Concepts of electricity and circuits.
