Determination of Melting Point
In this experiment, we are going to study the melting points in organic chemistry. The melting
point of a compound is the temperature at which the solid phase transitions into the liquid phase
at a standard pressure of 1 atmosphere. By means of this experiment, the melting point of
naphthalene and urea will be determined observing the melting range of these compound, and the
factors that affecting the melting point will be evaluated at the end of the experiment.
