Description

The electron was discovered in 1897 by the British physicist J. J. Thomson, in the experiments he did on cathode rays. Thomson’s experiments made it possible to measure the charge to mass ratio of the electron.

In this experiment, you are going to observe that electrons are point masses with a certain mass and see how they behave in a magnetic field. You are also going to calculate the mass of the electron.
