Description

If a magnetic field perpendicular to the current direction is applied to a semi-conductive material passing through it, the electric charges (free load carriers) moving in the magnetic field are concentrated in a certain region by the influence of the magnetic force. Due to the polarization that occurs as a result of this charge distribution, an electric field is formed between the two sides of the semiconductor.
