Chemical Equilibrium Experiment

  • To learn the chemical equilibrium and factors that affect it,
  • To explain the chemical equilibrium using Le Chatelier’s Principle,
  • To observe the response of chemical equilibrium reactions to change in concentration and in temperature, addition of catalyst.

In this experiment we are going to study the chemical equilibrium reactions. At equilibrium, the two opposing reactions go on at equal rates, hence there is no net change in the amounts of substances involved. Furthermore, Le Chatelier’s Principle states that if any changes is applied to the system, it will result in opposing changes in the system. As a result, the factors that affect the state of the chemical equilibrium will be examined and the changes in the systems will be interpreted according to Le Chatelier’s principle.
